I just got the external bluetooth GPS BT-Q818X, purchased the external GPS service and have it connected to the external GPS, the map tracks right away perfectly. I then check the logger, created a session and run the logger, the result looks good.

So, I tried to create a new split marker set. I found that everytime I hit the "Locate" button, it takes forever to find my current location as it seems to be using my internal GPS instead. What is going on??

Any help, or is it a bug? BTW, I'm using Droid with the latest Antroid OS update running trackmaster v2.2.

This is an interesting read. I thought for sure I was using the external GPS to edit split markers. I was never able to get within 15' accuracy before getting the external unit. With Bluetooth on, it goes to 7' accuracy pretty quickly. Guess it was all in my head.

Either way, I look forward to using the external unit for split markers.

Split marker sensitivity (for triggering) automatically adjusts based on the GPS accuracy, so there isn't a way to adjust it. You'll find that there isn't any problems with split marker triggering.

My next event is an autocross event June 16th and so I can't really use google earth as I wouldn't know where to set until I got there. Hopefully you guys will make it in June ;)

BTW, is there a way to change the split marker sensitivity?

The next Trackmaster release will probably the first week of June. Not sure if you know this, but you can also create your split markers in Google Earth and import them into Trackmaster Trackmaster and Google Earth. I'm not sure if that helps you for your situation.

Unfortunately, there isn't way to integrate the bluetooth GPS into Google Maps. But you're not the only one that wants this: Google Mobile Forums

Thanks for the reply, when can we expect the next release? Hopefully before my next event. As my internal GPS is just so slow; therefore, setting up split marker is painful.

Off topic: Do you know if it is possible to get the external GPS to work with Google maps?

The split marker editing still uses the internal GPS. You'll find that this won't affect your split marker triggering. The next release of Trackmaster will integrate the bluetooth GPS into the split marker editing, too.
