Jeff:

I am also interested in using Trackmaster as the base of a master timing system. I'm a technical consultant to the United States Sprint Boat Association. We are in the hunt for a new master timing system, being somewhat dissatisfied with our current light chopper system. Please see the attached RFP for your consideration.

From what I can see, Trackmaster would be a perfect fit for us with two additions:

1. A web service mode that allows a web client to query current time and split times over WiFi from the phone while the lap is in progress. This done, the data can be broadcast on flat panels and fed into the race management system with little effort.

2. A web service that allows remote start, stop and restart of laps.

We don't have reilable external internet connections at some of our tracks, so I can't count on being able to connect to MyTrackmaster. I will be setting up an 802.11N network that is local to each track; I'd like Trackmaster to operate with our race management system as above on that network with no need to connect to the "big Internet".

I plan on developing the USSBA race management system if we go this route.
I'm an embedded systems programmer with considerable web development experience, and the USSBA is an interested customer with growth potential.

Interested? Check out the URL above and the attached PDF, and let's talk.

Mark Miller
chalkboardcom@gmail.com

I just downloaded the software and really like what I see. I help to organize and put on RallyX/AutoX and stage rally events in Idaho. What i would like to have Is the option of using Trackmaster as a master timing and event registration system that would connect in real time to other racers using it so that event timing could be set by GPS location rather than expensive wireless light beams or old style hose systems.
In other words. Each competitor has a Droid in car that would not only track the info that the program already tracks but would also transmit via WIFI to a phone or tablet running a version that would track an entire event. similar to a transponder system. This info could then be publishable to a clubs website in real time. I could see a club picking up a few droid devices for drivers to stick in there car during events in the rare case a driver does not already have a compatible device.
This could include a registration system that could both take manual and automatic registration. If you like the idea and would like to collaborate on some of the features needed just hit me up. I cant program anything.
