Hi.

The GIS nerd in me is coming out. I find the export to Google Earth quite handy. I use it differently than most, I import it to my GIS software, which is beside the point. But, it does let me look at the geometries in detail, and I notice that the lines in the kml contain all of the data points that were logged. What could happen is to use the Douglas-Peucker algorithm to remove the points that do not significantly contribute to the line. This would remove unnecessary points, which in turn reduces the amount of data, which in turn makes for smaller file sizes and potentially faster data transfer. Depending on how/where line geometries are used in TrackMaster, it may or may not be that applicable or beneficial.

Douglas-Peucker algorithm

A GPS example (very generalised, but you get the idea) at the bottom of the page.

Just a suggestion.

Cheers,
Mel
