Can you try the video recording again, but with a free app called aLogcat running?

  1. Download aLogcat from the Android Market (free).
  2. Launch aLogcat.
  3. Launch Trackmaster and attempt to record video.
  4. Launch aLogcat again.
  5. Send the aLogcat output to support@trackaroo.com (there is an option in the app to send).

One more thing: Are you running a custom ROM?

file sent.
Subject line "No Video - Driod 3"

I am running the stock ROM.

Any chance not having GPS is causing this? I am trying this app while indoors.

Thanks

Jeff,

I know we've exchanges emails on this without a resolution and I've let it slide because April isn't here yet. But it's coming soon.

Hasn't anyone else with a Driod 3 complained? Or better yet, gotten it to work?

I just tried again today and still the video size is 0kb.

This seems to be an issue with some of the Motorola devices like the Droid 3. It's been a tough one to track down. Please send an email to support@trackaroo.com. I'd like to provide a debug load to you.

I am having this issue also. I have all my settings confirmed to take the video during session, the files are created, but zero bytes.

Motorola Droid Razr Maxx

I would love to find out there is a solution, if not I'd be willing to help debug.

Thanks

Droid Bionic, 0KB .mp4 video files are captured. Set to record, have 1 null file per lap.

Does your phone have internal storage (/mnt/sdcard) and external storage (mnt/sdcard-ext)?

I too have the Motorola droid 3 and having the same issues. Empty files on my SD card I have both internal and removable SD card. movies files are stored where they are suppose to be.

I send you and email Jeff so please disregard it.

I'll provide a debug version to a few of you in a few days. Unfortunately, fixes won't be in the next release (v5.8) which will come out by the end of the weekend. As far as the issue, Motorola's secondary/external storage is non-standard as far as Android. So something custom must be done to support it. I'm still trying to figure out what needs to be done.

Sorry, I was offline for a while..

SD card /mnt/sdcard

I see you are going to put a configurable item for the destination in the future. That should sort me out..

I just purchased the app, and tried it at an event this last weekend. Getting same 0kb .MP4 video files, so I assume all my laps for that event are no good...

Droid Bionic running Purity ROM.

I also saw that lap times were off from official timing by 2-3 seconds. All setting verified per the users manual, please advise on how these issues can be resolved. Willing to test new fixes if you need a beta group.

Video recording is independent of the lap recording. So you're data should be good. Please revert to the stock ROM. Custom ROMs don't have the same level of testing and can have issues.

yeah, the data is good, just not the video. Have you released a fix for stock ROM'd Motorolla devices? It looks like others in this thread had the same issue with stock ROM, and I'd rather not go back to that Motoblur garbage. The ROM I am running is basically native Android. I'd be more than happy to be a tester for non-stock ROMs.

Bump.

Has the issue been fixed on stock Motorola devices? I can find any mention of a fix or patch that solves this issue.

I'm having the issues listed in this thread on version 5.11. I'm using a samsung galaxy s2 skyrocket on ICS.

I would like to try the patch.
