Trackmaster v1.9 released!
Trackmaster v1.9 released!
12/5/09 11:24 AM
More bug fixes and improvements in v1.9. Here are some of the notable updates:
  • Many improvements have been made to split marker editing. You can now long press split markers in order to drag and move their location.
  • Another improvement to split marker editing is the ability to overlay a previous session. This can be very useful for locations where Google Maps is not current. It can be also be used to make adjustments based on previous sessions.
  • A toggle button for satellite view is available. This allows you to turn off the satellite mapping in case there is too much clutter. This is available on the session and split marker activity.
  • A new setting called Time Limit Mode allows you to set a time limit for your session logging. Logging will automatically stop when the time expires. This is useful if you forget to manually stop the logging.
  • A new way to share your lap times is available. On the laps activity you can now share your lap times as an image. This will create an image that looks like a paper lap times slip. This can be shared via Twitter, Facebook, and other applications.

A couple of small buglets-
When you use the clear button the 'Split Maker Count' isn't reset to 0 until you do something else using the buttons at the bottom or reorientating the screen.

If you short tap on a marker and say ok to delete you can't add any more markers without deleting and starting again. I don't think you need to confirm- on pressing the marker I would have thought 'Delete' and 'Move' would be enough. If you accidentally delete you are already in the right place to put it again.

If you choose share and then cancel, the share file is still generated.

I still can't export my data set- Apparently my provider decided that 60mb ram would be enough. Can we have a splitter/mover utility or can you suggest a way I can get my data out- I know it's one TD but it's my first recorded.

Feature request-
I was hoping to be able to move a marker without obscuring it with my finger- pop up a D pad or by tilting the phone or using the trackball (do all androids have that?)

I'm going to buy a Pulse (PAYG) that I am going to dedicate to the bike- is it possible to move purchased apps to new phones? (TBH- I'm not overly worried, Trackmaster is a bargain I'll happily buy again).

Cheers,
Bro

Thanks for posting these items. I appreciate you taking the time to let me know of any issues found or suggestions for making Trackmaster better. I plan on releasing a maintenance build by the end of the month for bug fixes only that should fix most of these.

As far as your second phone, you do not need to re-purchase your apps. Your apps are linked to your Google account. As long as you sign in with the same account on your second phone, you should be fine.

Thanks,
Jeff

Wow, you must be one of the very first to get this great phone. You should be able to see Trackmaster since you are running Android 1.6. I wonder if this is another market issue with a new phone. Can you see my other app, Dynomaster, in the market? This app also requires Androd 1.6+, but does not have copyright protection like Trackmaster. This test my shed some light on the issue. Which carrier are you with?

I did a little more research and it looks like you're not the only one that is having problems. Others also cannot see paid apps on the Acer Liquid. You might want to contact your carrier.

No paid app available with an Acer Liquid (France)

12/10/09
hello,

I'm from France, i have just bought an Acer Liquid and i just can't see any paid app on the market with it.

One thing that may ba improtant (?) is the phone has not been bought with an operator "package".

I know i'm not the only one to have this problem here in France, i have found others Liquid users that have it, even some that have replaced another android phone with the liquid and no more see their bought apps on the market.

Is it possible that someone check this problem and activate (?) the phone on the market ?

If more information about the phone are needed i can give it.

I can see paid apps and Dynomaster. I am in Norway and use Market-Enabler. But it doesn't show up either with T-mobile(US ) or O2(Germany).

I can see it on an HTC Magic 1.6 and Droid 2.0. Unfortunately, we don't have the Acer here in the states yet. I have had purchases recently from Europe. The only thing I can think of is it's a market-enabler issue. Here's one more test. Can you see the 'Picsay Pro' app?

When I was looking for something else today Trackmaster showed up, and when I went into downloads another app that I have bought was there as well. I have bought around 5 apps and 2 of them didn't show up until now, 3 days after the others, strange.

Will the 1.9 update run on 2.0+, I see where you have listed 1.6+, but I just wanted to be sure that it would run on 2.0+ before I go and flash my Hero now that I have root. emoticon

Yes, it will run on Android 2.0+. Which ROM are you using?

Right now I'm using Fresh, I'm still on 1.56, but I'm not sure how to get 2.0 on my Hero. I would have thought that going through the process would have gotten me to 2.0, but I guess I was mistaken. Still trying to figure that part out.

I'm headed back to the track on the 27th so I really, really want to have this updated by then so I can try out all of the new features! emoticon

1.1 looks sweet btw!!

EDIT: though, I'm checking the market for Trackmaster now and I'm not seeing it at all...strange...off to research.

The latest versions of Trackmaster (and Dynomaster) require Android 1.6+. That's why you can't see it. The Hero will be upgraded to 2.1 sometime early next year according to Sprint.

At one point I was able to see it (I think when 1.9 initially came out).

I've found a 2.1 ROM for the Sprint Hero (I'm impatient and have a feeling the update from Sprint won't come about until June 30th...since that's technically still the first half of the year...)

The only downside to this ROM is that it doesn't support the Accelerometer yet, and a few other things, so I'll just keep waiting. At least I still have the basic functionality of the initial releases. emoticon That more than I can ask for.
