Video Sync
2/10/12 5:02 PM
Jeff,

All my Saturday and one of my Sunday sessions were synced by Tuesday. But I still have three Sunday sessions with no video on myTrackmaster. I tried the check and uncheck a couple times. Is my sync stuck?

Thanks,

Alan

Keep in mind that the video files are very large and will take a lot longer to sync (upload). Make sure you're on Wifi for the fastest upload and be patient.

Jeff,

Not one video has uploaded in the last 6 days.

Did you try a manual sync while you're on Wifi? Otherwise, the approximate schedule for sync is every 6 hours.

Several times.....

Just did it again. Sync runs for about 5 seconds and quits.

I see that you completed sync on the server side with no attempt to upload video. Do the lap video files still exist on your phone in the original location and file names?

Yeap, they are all there. Even the ones from sessions marked Archive on mytrackmaster.

This happened on the track weekend before this one as well. It uploaded all of saturday and some of sunday then quit. Its weird cause it works like crazy saturday and sunday. I usually have to leave the phone plugged into the car charger all day just to keep the battery from going dead. Then sync seems to give up on monday.

Videos are actually uploaded to Youtube for video storage. I'm wondering if the video files are too large (too long) or if too many attempts have been made. We'll need to collect some logs please:

  1. Download aLogcat from the Android Market (free).
  2. Launch aLogcat.
  3. Verify that you see a lot of messages in the aLogcat window.
  4. Leave aLogcat (don't Pause or Clear) and go to the Phone Settings.
  5. Start a Trackmaster Sync under Accounts & Sync.
  6. Return to aLogcat and wait for the messages to refresh.
  7. Use the Share option to send the messages to support@trackaroo.com.

Any update?

I have a track weekend again on the 3rd and 4th, so I deleted all the vids off the phone. I also set the remaining three sessions that didn't sync any videos to Archive so they should be erased from the phone.

I'll let you know what happens this weekend.

Jeff,

Same thing again this last weekend. All the data and about half the vids sync by Monday, and then no more vids sync.

Were some of the video files deleted, renamed or was the SDCARD unmounted? Trackmaster attempts to upload those video files multiple times. If it can't access the file, then it won't upload. Also if there is a network interruption, it will try again later. I tried to remotely upload some debug information, but your data connection doesn't seem to be available.

I connected the phone to the PC yesterday to copy all the vids to my PC.

The phone has been sitting here on the desk - good 3G and wifi. I was creating a new split marker file on the phone for my next track event on Saturday for a while.

How long were you connected to the PC? I think I might know what happened. When you connect to your PC, that unmounts the SDCARD to give access to the PC. During that time, Trackmaster attempts to sync and can't find the video files (because the SDCARD is unmounted). It then thinks you deleted them and updates the lap to have no video. I'll need to figure out how to work around that.

About 45 minutes to an hour.
