Once the countdown hits zero data will be logged. Tap the screen to stop. You can then view your data under the Sessions menu option. If you would like to use split markers in order to generate split times, go to Split Markers. Create a new split marker set by selecting the New menu option and specifying a name. Tap on locations along your course to create split markers.

This is your main screen for logging your track data. Select an existing session or start a new session. Then hit the start button to start data collection. If "GPS not ready" is displayed, this means that the GPS does not have satellite lock or accuracy is poor. Please wait for the GPS to acquire satellites or for accuracy to improve. This also might occur if you're indoors where the GPS signal is weak.

Note: If you do not want phone calls to interrupt your logging session, set your phone to temporarily send calls to voicemail. On your phone go to Settings > Call Settings > Call forwarding.

13.Importing Data

You can import sessions, split marker sets, or setups to your android phone and view them with Trackmaster. This is a great way to post and share your data. There are two ways to do this:
  • SDCARD - Open sessions, split marker sets, or setups from your SDCARD.
  • Email - Send sessions, split marker sets, or setups as an attachment in email. Then open the attachment in your android phone email client. Trackmaster will recognize the attachment and guide you through downloading the data.
  • Web Posting - Post your sessions, split marker sets, or setups to a public web page. Then open the posted file in your android phone web browser. Trackmaster will recognize the file and guide you through downloading the data. If you post it to a web site, make sure your web server is configured to send the mime-type application/vnd.google-earth.kmz for KMZ files and application/vnd.ms-excel for XLS files. You can also post your data to any forum.

14.Tips

Note: If you do not want phone calls to interrupt your logging session, set your phone to temporarily send calls to voicemail. On your phone go to Settings > Call Settings > Call forwarding.
  • Autocross, Rally, and Hillclimb (Solo) Tips
    • You will want to mount your phone and use the horizontal layout as shown here:
    • You have a couple options for for Start Mode: Movement or 1st Split Marker. With Movement, your logger will triggered by your initial acceleration at the start line. Or you can use 1st Split Marker to trigger the logger with a split marker at the start line.
    • Place additional split markers at desired locations along the course. Place your last split marker at the finish line.
    • You can create your split marker set during the course walk. The easiest way to do this is to use the Locate menu option. This will locate your current position. Then just tap the cross hairs to add a split marker to your location.
    • A better way for creating split markers would be for your organization to create the split marker set prior to the event with Google Earth. Then a "standard" split marker set can be provided to everyone. This is a great way to compare results afterwards. See the Google Earth section for more info.
    • Set your Lapping Mode to Lapping Off. Your logger (and time) will automatically stop after crossing the last split marker.
    • Ensure that you have plenty of charge on your device or use a charger when logging data to ensure you don't unexpectedly lose data.
    • If you Twitter, Trackmaster can post real-time updates to your Twitter friends. Go to Settings to enable Twitter mode.
  • Track Day, Road Racing, HPDE (Lapping) Tips
    • You will want to mount your phone and use the horizontal layout as shown above.
    • For Start Mode choose 1st Split Marker. Set your 1st split marker at the start/finish line for the track.
    • Place additional split markers at desired locations along the course.
    • The best way to create your split marker set is prior to the event using Google Earth. Or a "standard" split marker set may already be available. Check the your favorite racing forums to see if a split marker set for your track has already been created. See the Google Earth section for more info.
    • Set your Lapping Mode to Lapping On. Lap times and new lap data will be created when the 1st split marker is crossed.
    • Ensure that you have plenty of charge on your device or use a charger when logging data to ensure you don't unexpectedly lose data.
    • If you Twitter, Trackmaster can post real-time updates to your Twitter friends. Go to Settings to enable Twitter mode.
  • GPS Tips
    • Before you start your logging, remain on the logging screen for a few minutes prior to tapping the start button. This will improve the acquisition of GPS satellites.
    • The GPS will assume you're at the same location as the last time you had a GPS fix and look for the satellites it expects to be able to see from that location. If you've moved more than 100 miles or so from that location, then your lock will take longer.
    • If possible, ensure that you have plenty of charge on your device or use a charger when logging data.
